Remove shadow on the face

I would like to remove some shadow on face. What approach is the best?

I tried color replacement brush but the result is not satisfactory.

can u post the picture? its a little hard to determine the best action without something to go by. but just off the bat i will say thedodge tool in light moderation.

Use the clone tool to copy clear parts of face on shadow.... use a small size , soft edge stamp with aflow strenght 65% on a new layer.

dodge tool. definitely. and then finish off with the spot healing brush. i dont think cloning for this is really practical with all the dramatic gradients.

Yup , your right.... with those gradients it would be time consuming. DODGE TOOL ...

I saw this on itouch The image is not there now but I think the patch tool will do what I saw........
