Re: All about copyrights...
They ALL got millions of dollars? For what?...Torrents ARE NOT ILLEGAL, nor is setting up the mirror. It comes down to what you the user does with it. Try selling bootleg
copies and yes you"ll probibly pay a fine, or recieve a cease and desist notice. That is not change pixel/line art however, and totally beyond the scope of this disscussion.

The long running court case against BitTorrent site the Pirate Bay reached a conclusion today (April 17), with the four co-founders of the site facing a year in jail and a $3.6 million fine. The case played out in a Stockholm courtroom, with the accused found guilty of making 33 specific files available for illegal sharing through the site.

I guess this is better to avoid conflicts and also as a sign of respect to the original owner of the photos we are using and editing.
About the copyrighted materials which need to have a letter of permission, how do we know if the materials/photos need a letter of permission and those which do not require it.

Techincally though, the majority of the pirate bay is not illegal, because they are simply sharing links to other sites.
The owners could have been fined a lot more but that was all they could really be tried for.
I think they actually lose money hosting the site but do it anyway

Re: All about copyrights...
I am NOT here defending the rights of pirates here.... But if there so guilty, why then are they not only still going, but bigger than ever? Why are there other sites like
them ready to fill there shoes? Because they are doing nothing wrong. This letter is over 2 years old, Appeals May even have cleared them by now.... Who knows.
Meadrianne....I had that same question when I started my first project, The company[s] involved were tracked back to there last physical location, Then the
employees were tracked down though records only to find some bitter old man who say"s NO anyway...... Some things are public domain [free to use].
