Thread: What is this called? and How do I do it?

    What is this called? and How do I do it?

    I am looking to do what they have done in this picture. There is some sort of shadow over the lower section of the picture and then there is some writing. I am sure it is simple to those in the know!

    Just look at the............ lol
    I would do the same as spruce except for instead of lowering the opacity I go to filter blur Gaussian blur and crank it up that way it causes a slight out of focus effect.

    Oh I should say if you are using the gaussian blur method you need to make sure you still have the selection active (marching ants) and make sure it is on a new layer otherwise you will just blur out the whole image.
