Business card "bleed" edges?
Hi there - first time working on business cards and I need to provide a pdf using card size (3.5 x 2) with 1/4" bleed on the edges... how the heck do I leave some grids/lines on my document so I'm 'safe'?
I guess I could manually do it with ruler and careful measurements/drawing of lines?
Thanks!

Turn on rulers Ctrl+R. Left click the ruler margin and drag to pull out guides lines.
Or, View - New Guide and set the horizontal or vertical location on the pop-up menu.

i think the easiest thing would be to make your design on a 3x1.5 inch canvas, then when your done hit canvas size, and add a half inch both vertically and horizontally so you have a quarter inch bleed

That will just give you a border around the artwork, for printing the artwork needs to extend to the edges beyond the bleedlines.

Thanks, folks. Yes, I would want 'my image' to extend right to whatever printable edge there really is. So enlarging the canvas, I don't think is the best option here. But good info for those needing to create a border, for instance.
