Transparent Problem

Hey guys
Im doing a logo
I took the PSD file which has a transparent background and converted it to GIF. Got horrid results. Just tried using slightly different optimisation setting and in fact tried to just do a save as GIF, still got a jagged edge around the outside. Im not too bothered about gaining any file size shrinkage.

Any suggestions please? New to PS....so need details and cant be sure I do anything right (blush)

it's a little difficult to say without seeing it, but you might try saving it as a ".png" (portable networks graphic) file. PNG's also support transparency, and I've never had any trouble with them in the past.
