Will Photoshop CS5 Work on my Computer

Hello all, Noob here. I just bought PS CS5 and installed it on my laptop only to find out I didn't have enough RAM... I have another computer here that has enough ram, but not a DVD rom drive.

My question is: Will CS5 work on my Dell Dimension 2400 with a Intel Celeron CPU 2.40GHz Processor?

My use is: Isolating sheds to put into new backgrounds, and hopefully to paint them different colors.

I know what the system requirements are, but the processor on the laptop isn't either of those, and it still worked. If it's not exactly the same processor as the requirements, will it just plain not work, or will it just be slower than it could be?

Adding more RAM to a laptop is cheap and very easy, if you want to try it I can help you.

You just need to know the type of RAM to order, which you can find on the manufacturers website usually.... order a stick or two from Newegg and all you need to install it is usually a screwdriver to open up the back of your laptop and pop in the new stick(s).

I'm with Gaussian, memory is cheap and installing it on a laptop is usually easier than on a desktop computer.
As for not having a DVD drive, download the trial version from Adobe and install it.
It's the extended version but if you have the standard version it doesn't matter.
Enter the serial number that came with the disk and you're done.

Add as much memory as you can and you MUST update your video driver.

I don't want it on my laptop, I would prefer it on the Dell... I'll get a DVD drive if I know it might work on there.

You don't need a DVD drive, you can download the program and use your serial number to activate the program.

I bought the disk copy at staples... will it still work that way?

Yes it will... the serial number from your retail version will work on the trial download from Adobe's website. You may have to call them for activation, but you should not have any problems.
