Invalid ICC profile message
When I try to soft proof an image, I get an error message "Could not complete the Proof Colors command because the ICC profile is invalid", but this occurs even before I am able to choose an ICC profile. I have checked the appropriate file and see that the ICC profiles are, in fact, there.
I am running Windows 7x64 and CS5.
For some time I was able to view images and print successfully. Then, about a week ago my prints started coming out much too light, although at the time I was able to soft proof my images. I troubleshot the problem and thought the problem was with the ICC profile. Now, today, I cannot even soft proof.
What could be my problem?

Re: Invalid ICC profile message
I wish to add to the above post.
Further troubleshooting indicates this problem occurs in CS5x64, but not in CS5x32.

Re: Invalid ICC profile message
I'm just guessing here.
I found this although I don't know if it helps.
It seems you have 2 locations for icc profiles c:\windows\SysWOW64\spool\drivers\color\, and c:\windows\System32\spool\drivers\color\
Can it be that the profiles are in both locations and the one in SysWOW64 is corrupt?
When do you get the error message when you go to Proof Colors or Proof Setup?

I will have to put you up there in the genius category.
I didn't know about C:\windows\SysWOW64\spool\drivers\color\, but checked it and found it was empty. So, I copied all ICC profiles from C:\windows\System32\spool\drivers\color\, pasted them into C:\windows\SysWOW64\spool\drivers\color\, then right-clicked on my printer profiles to install them, restarted CS5, and, lo-and-behold, found that everything worked.
Thank you much.

Hey that's great, I'm glad it worked and that you and I were able to figure it out.
I hope to see you here as a regular tontod.
