    CS5 not opening files properly

I'm using CS5 for photo editing (the latest updates installed) and have just started to have problems with opening files. It seems to be all files pds with several layers as well as flattened jpgs ect. When I try to open the saved file I get a white background, the layers pallet shows thumbnails of the images that's no problem. But the image it's self is blank only showing the white background. I can restart the computer and photoshop a number of times and get the same but if luck is running with me the image will open and I can get to work without problems. Sometimes I can open the image as a camera raw image and then open it in CS5 but that dosen't work all of the time. Any help would be appreciated as this is quite frustrating.
I meant to mention this happens with any photo I try to open so it's not a problem with a particular photo.
    Thank you

    Two easy things to try:

    Disable OpenGL Drawing
Use Ctrl+K, Cmd+K on the Mac to open Preferences.
Go to Performance and "Uncheck" Enable OpenGL Drawing
    Close then restart Photoshop.

If that doesn't help, reset the Preferences file.
Start Photoshop and immediately hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows)
    or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS X).

Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"

Re: CS5 not opening files properly

I'm running into the same problem. If I edit a DNG in Photoshop it will show. But if I try and edit a JPG or TIF in Photoshop I get the gray screen and the photo will only appear if I drag the window. As soon as I set it down it goes back to gray screen.

I've done the preferences reset and I've tried with and without the OpenGL Drawing option in the performance preferences.

Here's the system info it will help troubleshoot this problem:

Re: CS5 not opening files properly

I retract that post. It worked to open a JPG when I removed the 'Enable OpenGL Drawing' option but I had to close and re-open PS and then when it opened the 2nd time it displayed. Thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else runs into that situation.
