About LinkBacksI'm not sure what I did but I'm guessing it was some kind of keyboard shortcut while working.. I'm using photoshop cs
The problem: My default brush's soft edge won't active and the brush has a plus sign inside the circle. I already tried reseting the brushes, reseting photoshop, and reseting the computer.. nothing will bring it back :(

On your tool palette switch from the "pencil" tool to the "brush" tool. (click and hold the icon or right click to get to the hidden tools).
