Image Ready isn't ! ! ! !

When I try to open a document with Image Ready, or save my new web-version image after jumping from Photoshop to Image Ready, I get an error message:

"Could not complete this operation because an assertion has failed."

Just what in the blue blazes does that mean, and how in tarnation do I fix it?
Normally, when I collect a bug somewhere and Photoshop starts getting glitchy I just reinstall it, but that doesn't work. I really need to use Image Ready!!!!!!!
I am using a PC with Wxp pro (service pack 2+), and Photoshop 7.0.

Got any guesses, clues, or explanations?

Was that really so difficult to figure out on your own???

In the dark you bump into walls until you find a door.
I gather that this is a problem that "just happens" when the registry becomes corrupted. There are simple fixes. Hooray. Now I know.

This happens so often that it shouldn't happen at all because there should be a patch for it.

Thanks for that tip- but I don't understand why you were so rude about this request for information.
Isn't finding solutions to photoshop problems what this website is for?
Or do you actually expect everyone to already know everything?

I think he expects everyone to find the solution using something as trivial and easy to know as Google.

I think that anyone who doesn't Google a problem first before trying ANYTHING is a complete moron. But, that's just what i think.

I didn't write out how many googles I had done and how many searches I had made before I tried this website, because the list was extensive. What I didn't do was google the entire error message, and that's what it seems you believe to be so obvious. I didn't know that you could google something that specific and expect to get any results, but now I do.
I wouldn't have reported this problem on this website if I thought there was an easier solution. From the accounts I have read from other Photoshop users who were having the same weird problem I did what they did: I found a site that specializes in Photoshop and asked.
Didn't you have something better to do, or have you just had too much coffee?
