Question About Layouts
Whatsup everyone? I'm desinging a site for a local tattoo shop and i made the layout. How do i keep that same layout for all the pages of the site, but have the content on it for those pages? Would i like them the same way and link would be used in html? Also, i read constant tutorials about slicing and i still do not get it. I'm trying to slice the layout so i can have the content area fully manually editable in html without the layout breaking up into pieces which happens when people are new at slicing. Any help that anyone has would greatly appreciated.
thanks

Question About Layouts
Welcome to the forums JB, it would help a little if you could post a screenshot of your design. What you are asking is a fairly simple matter, and I would be happy to help, but would need to see what we a looking at first.
Question; Do you have Dreamweaver? If so this makes what you want to do even easier, if not it can still be done, you will need a basic knowledge of HTML coding. Do you have that?
Show us a picture of what you are trying to do and we will be able to assist.
Again Welcome :B 8))

Question About Layouts
Thanks, Yes, i have dreamweaver, and i have photoshop 7 with image ready. I know HTML, it's my strongest "language",i self taught myself about 4-5 yrs ago. i have knoweldge of CSS, PHP, VB, and QBASIC as well. The design is not fully done yet, but the navigation boxes will be on the left side, and i want the main content to be in the middle. I still have to make the boxes and stuff. I don't know if this pic will help you, and if it doesnt just let me know and i will put the boxes in and stuff. I have many designs too, so ill put up another design later on.
P.S. how do i post a screenshot? never done it before
thanks

Question About Layouts
bags; load you pic on your computer and press the 'Print Screen' button
this will put a copy of your screen image on your clipboard.
Then open Photoshop and go to File/New the default size of the clipbord image wil appear, accept the default and when the blank image is open go to File/Paste anda copy will be placed into the new document. You can then save for web and post it. This works in Windows, I don't do Mac so if that is what you have someone else will help

Layouts
ya ive been to that site a few times and read that tutorial a few times...i get how to do it with a layout where the links are at the top and the content is under that, but lets say if the layout had the links on the side and you wanted the content on the other side. Would u do it the same way just switch the way it is sliced and edited? What if you had boxes on either sides for navigation and the content in the middle?

Question About Layouts
I think it would still work, it would depend on the way it was sliced \:] \:]
you need to make a few modifications but the method would be much the same
What I would do is similar to the below pic.
And use a Cascading stylesheet for the positioning of your navigation and content
