Photo background for homepage help

Hi, I have a photo I want to use for my homepage, it happens to be vertical anyone have a suggestion what the best way is to get a vertical image to cover the background without making it stretch?

All depends on the image and size but sounds like if you use smart objects it may help you

It It is a large image like 3200 x 5700 and right now I just have it resized proportionately and centered in the homepage cause I need to make it classy, to fill a web page background you have to have an image of at least 1800 width I am not an expert in photoshop I can't post the link here since I am new to the forum but if you'd like the graphic send me an email gje25 at aol.com and I'll forward you a link Would welcome an opinion since it appears you are in the graphics business
