Smoothing Text
I have recently been downloading some fonts and I want to use them to create proper titles. The problem I am having is that at any size even 72 the font is to pixelated around the edges. Is this a problem with the way I'm installing the fonts, or the actual font itself ?
Or, hopefully, is there a way to make photoshop fix this ?
I am using cs3, if that matters

Re: Smoothing Text
When you select the type tool, you will find in the menu the antialiasing settings. There 5 settings. Selecting none will make the text jagged. The rest will have varying degrees of pixelation.
It is not a problem with the font or its installation You have to remember that this is the way photoshop displays pixel data. It is unlike vector that everything is sharp and jagged.Of course, don't zoom up to it coz you'll see the pixelation.... view it at normal view.

Re: Smoothing Text
i had a similar issue and did these exact steps but did not help so for some strange reason I checked my actual image quality and it had mysteriosly lowered down to 35dpi so if working on large files make sure your document resolution is at least 72 or even better 300 dpi for really large documents
