    Gash/Cut with blood

this is a continuation of deelo's bullet holes mini-tutorial. Was dinkin around with brush settings and I got this.

    Kudo's original Bullet holes.
    1. File > New (Any Size, I used 500.250 px), Any background,
    2. Choose a rather small-sized Soft Edges brush. (I used 21px),
    3. Open up Brushes Pallete,
    4. You can uncheck the Shape Dynamics it doesn't matter,
    5. Scattering, Scatter 280% Control Off. Leave the others at default,
    6. Texture Now this is up to you, pick any pattern that suits you the most. I picked the default Bubble Pattern.
    7. Ok back to the document, Create a New Layer
    8. Paint using your newly created brush using black as Foreground color, OMG Bulletholes!
    15. Optional: Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask both layers, play around with the settings

[heres where i added onto it for bloody gashy-ish effect]

    16. Pick a dark crimson color. If it isn't bloodish enough you can darken with image>adjust> Brightness Contrast or ctrl-B (color balance) when the main stuff is over.
    17. Brush pallete
    18. uncheck shape dynamics
    19. check scattering, texture, dual brush
    20. my brush settings are:
    Scattering: 295% Both axes
    Count: 1%
    Count jitter: 86%
    Texture: bubbles 25%
    Mode: Overlay
    Depth: 15%
    minimum depth: 50%
    Jitter: 0%
    Control: off
Dual brush: (soft edge works with any size)
    diameter: 13%
    spacing 25%
scatter: 209 (can either check or uncheck Both Axes)
    Count: 1%
21: right click alter pixel width is quick and easy to adjust overall size. I have found that when just narrow enough it gives a nice acute clean cut look.

Works great in tandem with grunge brushes. That banner there is just something I threw together real quick for somebody in another forum.

Could you post an example of the finished effect?
