Unhappy How do i make this cool looking grid?

    Hello,

I came across this really cool looking grid design and have fallen inlove with the look. I can't figure out how to make it. can someone lend a hand?

I know how to make a preset brush pattern and how to fill a layer with a grid. i know how to switch to bitmap mode to make a grid.

My problem is that I have tried different ideas but i can't get the grid to look like this.

One layer is the grid and i have to use one of the overlay effects
bottom layer is the actual abstract image that the grid is in top of.

i have attached the grid image, thanks in advance

Well I duplicated the effect but somehow I cannot upload anything to the forum today. The manage attachments window is not responding at all. Something weird with the site I guess. IE 7 crashs and Firefox locks when upload is clicked.

Anyways, to dup the effect you can create a pattern to represent the dots. I started with a 10 pixel by 10 pixel new project. Then I figured where to put a 1 pixel pencil dot within the 10 x 10 project that exactly matches the image you supplied. You can adjust as you see fit. Save the project as a pattern.

Start a new project and fill with the pattern. Create a new layer and fill with black. You should have two layers, the black on bottom. Next add a gradient to the black layer and choose the colors you want at either end. For the pattern layer, just choose a color overlay that you like. You're done.

You can grab the images and PS files I made at:

    Pattern file = www.smyrin.com/Files/Pattern1.psd
    Example file = www.smyrin.com/Files/PSFile.psd

    Files created in PS 7
