About LinkBacksI must sound like a complete idiot asking a question regarding one of the most used options in Photoshop, but I never got to understand layer masks.
Is there anyone who could please explain in detail what a layer mask does and how to use them?

A layer mask simply covers or uncovers parts of the layer on which it is used. You cover or reveal parts in the layer by painting with black or white on the mask. Black conceals - white reveals.
