Layer Visibility
Hold the Alt key when clicking on the Eye Symbol icon (Visibility Mode) in the Layers Palatte to Hide all other layers except the active layer.

awesome when ya got oodles of layers and ya just need to single out a particular layer (in my case, a lot, making tutorials)

And the good news is that in PS CS, it will remember the layers that were showing and those that were hidden!!! (when you re-ALT+Click the eye icon)
