Can someone teach me how to do this?

Ok so I did a rubbish job on the background.. It's essentially a load of brush strokes that have been Gaussian blurred (filter > blur > Gaussian blur). On the logo layer, select the black and delete it. Then use a "lighter colour" blend mode to knock out the dark blue. Now double click the layer...

How to make the background effect like the one I attached?

I guess there are a few ways to do this. 1. Create a gradient for your background between white and a teal / green color. 2. Create a rectangle. 3. Rasterize it and add motion blur at around 45 degrees. 4. Double click the layer and add a bevel and emboss layer style (be subtle with it!)...

Hi Hawkeye. I've probably done that about 5 times this past month! Nothing seems to work.

Using Photoshop to help with removing light leak on image.

Hi Danielle, the icon next to the layer icon is a layer mask (any Photoshop user's best friend!). As Hawkeye said, what you need is a layer above the original photo which you paint colors with a soft brush to match the arm. This will get rid of the light leak on the arm. Then you'll need to add...

Can anyone please tell me how to make this vintage photo effect

Great examples Tom! The method definitely wouldn't work for all images. Also it depends how photorealistic you want to get. In some cases photorealistm will be a prerequisite. I think those gradations from light to dark are a problem here because they will get clipped unrealistically.

    Help probably simple

So you want the car to be in its original colour and the rest to be desaturated? Did you drag the saturation down in the adjustment layer? Once that's done you should be able to paint black where the car is and see it return to normal.

Can anyone please tell me how to make this vintage photo effect

The blacks and whites are extreme. I think what you're after is a curves adjustment where you "crush" the black and white levels. The higher the black level, the more greys start turning into blacks / the lower the white level the more greys start turning into whites. Anything below your black...

Just pondering the possibility of a MR sequel. Loved the original! Nothing spectacular here - just a bit of fun I guess.

Question About the Pen Tool and Creating a Path

That feature has been there for a while I think. I use CS6 and that has it. Also hold alt+drag to break the bezier tangency.

How do I make the text in the image?

As Sam said, not the easiest task in PS. Doable without any plugins though which is nice. Quick test.

    Mercedes 350 SL 1980 "Restoration"

I really like it Chris! Maybe break up the reflections on the chrome parts a little bit - the leaves in the gaps in the hangar would break up the light I think

    Time

Decided to make this image which basically tries to depict how humans have used time - we have subdivided the rotation of the Earth into hours, minutes, and seconds. If the Earth didn't rotate on its axis, would we still have the same concept of time? "Time" controls our lives. Was inspired by...
