    Making an Accurate Selection

For what you're doing the Pen is the tool. The way to make it more efficient is to love the pen tool. I love the pen, repeat, I love the pen. Get used to it and it will become second nature and be as fast as any other selection tool.

    Glossy Glass with liquid inside.

It's a very long and relitivly complicated tutorial. If you're having to ask about the quick mask you probably should learn a little more about PS first. The tutorial gets more complicated from here.

Fixing an image that was taken at an angle

The dock is the give away that the image is slightly tilted, although not much. There are many ways to straighten it. I use CS3. My favorite is to go under the Filter menu > Distort > Lens Correction. A seperate little app will open. In this case, un-check the grid to get it out of the way...

Newbie - How do I achieve this effect please?

You're welcome. Wasn't sure how well you knew PS, so I didn't know if my suggestions were too detailed or not detailed enough.

Newbie - How do I achieve this effect please?

Maybe I was wrong, I thought the OP was talking about the white border. Not the depth of field.

Newbie - How do I achieve this effect please?

It looks like they used the rounded rectangle to make a path and then a selection. The rounded rectangle is in the third group of tools in the tool pallet (CS3) It's in with the rectangle tool, line tool, custom shape tool, ect. *Click on the rounded rectangle and then up at the top choose a...

    Photo Straightenin/ cropping help

Congrats on using that filter to straighten your images. I think it is the easiest method. Now, your question. You say you lose the "original/standard size ratio of photos". The way I understand it, there is no "Standard" size ratio. The ratio of the original is dependent upon the sensor size...

    blending selection edges

I assume you don't have these in Raw. I copied one of them and opened it in Adobe Photoshop's Raw program. You'll have to set under the edit menu > prefs >file handling> Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for JPEG files. Check the box and then right click on the orginal picture and choose open with...

    Delete attachment?

I attached a small picture to a reply. It was just a black line 5px high 120px long as an example of 5px. Before I even posted it i realized that it would be too dark to be seen very well. I found no way to delete it. I made another with a white background and put a check mark in it to attach. I...

    Example of my work

The rope, or lack of it, is good. You did a good job on the sky. If you tried to lighten your eyes and cheek, I can't tell. There are a ton of ways to do it. Quick and easy.... Well, probably the first way I would do it, doesn't mean the quickest or easiest. I'd make a loose selection starting...

    blending selection edges

I don't know the resolution, but for what you are doing I think a 5 px feather is way too small. You need to blend it further than that. The line below is 150px X 5px at 75px per inch. Assuming it posts at 100% you can see that 5px isn't much to blend. I also can't figure out how to delete...

    Cropping in PS CS3

It seems that if I don't change the resolution, it only slightly changes in size. If I change the resolution the image does as you say. I just push Ctrl 0 to fit it to the screen again.
