I have been concentrating on color correcting and enhancing portraits... In this attempt, I color corrected, white balanced, removed blemishes and crumbs (goldfish crackers), smoothed and re-textured the skin, and brightened the eyes. I feel like I didn't have a very good focus on his face for some reason... but it's all I had to work with. :(

Feedback is welcome, always looking to learn!

Nice work..

Color and depth is improved and compliments on the eyes!
The boy is the main focus now instead of the whole picture.

Good job!

Sorry, but I have to disagree. On my calibrated monitor, he (and everything else) is MUCH too orange / saturated / high contrast. I would suggest something more like this...

PS - One more point: (a) You should save with a higher "quality" setting than 75. The JPG compression artifacts become very annoying when one has to make major changes to tonalities / colors.
