    I'm pretty sure it was a corrupted registry entry for me. If it is the same in your case then it was not removed in the uninstall. Did you run ccleaner(with ccenhancer)/registry cleaner between uninstall and reinstall?

    Ah, then you probably would not have noticed open with being out of action, but we all have our own habits in how we use a program. I am just happy that my preferred method works again.
