Photos imported from lightroom are noisey, grainey today, but not yesterday

FIXED IT. Had to reset my preferences, any one else has this problem see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/963474?tstart=0 However I could not find the preference file via Windows 7 as Julie said. Had to use the ctrl alt shift key when restarting then hit yes, went back to cs6 standard...

Photos imported from lightroom are noisey, grainey today, but not yesterday

I just imported several photos from lightroom as I've always done, using Cntrl E. These are raw photos that I am reprocessing (the originals) and they are not noisy in LR 5.2 or the tiffs I did previously were not noisy. I guess noise is the best way to describe it, that or way oversharpened...

Quick selection tool in CS 6 SSSSLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW

Finally found it, for some reason the scratch disk in performance (my hard drive) was no longer checked. clicked on it and now it works fast like it did before. Don't know how or why it became unchecked.

Quick selection tool in CS 6 SSSSLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW

nope. No strange messages, tried 2 reboots, went through the performance tabs as suggested in other tabs etc and still nothing. Smoking fast still in CS5 so that's what I have to use as I need to make selections for final sharpening. Have the same CS 6 Cloud on my laptop and no problems there.

Quick selection tool in CS 6 SSSSLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW

I must have hit some key unintentionally but it's so slow I can't really select anything. Nothing else is slow, magnetic, lasso, crop tool, etc so any suggestions to speed it up are really appreciated. I'm stuck right now. Thanks Stan

    brush display????

I did something to change my display for by brush, healing brush, dodge tool etc. It normally displays a circle to allow me to see what I'm covering. Now it just shows "cross hair" pattern. I know it has to be simple to set back but I can't find it and shutting ps down and back on won't work...

Wow, Sam thanks so much for taking that time. I'm at work now but will try and digest it tomorrow at home.

Adding layers and still have contact aware fill work

Perhaps a better question would be then how do I create an active pigmented layer after I've used a few adjustment layers on the background copy? Create a group as suggested above?

Adding layers and still have contact aware fill work

not quite sure how to do that, I've not created a "group" before so I guess I am a newbie. You have a link I can check out to see how that is done.

Adding layers and still have contact aware fill work

I don't consider myself a newbie but thought it best to post here. I use Photoshop CS 5 for processing and improving images only, no text layers etc. Usually if I remove things from an image, grass blade, dust speckle, etc it's the first step in my workflow. However sometimes I'll notice...
