problems printing size on paper different than in photoshop doc

Make sure that in the print dialogue, you have unchecked "scale to fit print area" - Because your document is exactly the same size as the piece of paper, if you have this option checked, it will shrink the image to fit within the print area, thereby shrinking the bit that you want to print too...

Sorry to confuse - What the profiles do is try to make the colours as consistent as possible across different medias. Of course, there will normally be some differences, particularly between say, a satin art paper and a high gloss photo paper. The profiles also control the amount of ink that...

OK, the printers with the extra cartridges; Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Green, Light Cyan, Light Magenta, Light Black etc., have those cartridges to extend the printing gamut beyond that available from a standard CMYK ink mix. For example, the Light Cyan and Light Magenta cartridges smooth out...

Yes, if you're printing, always start in CMYK. Changing from RGB to CMYK affects some colours. Your monitor won't be displaying CMYK properly unless it's been calibrated. What this means, is that some colours (particularly blues), won't display on your screen that way that they will print...

    Illustrator Enlarging an Illustrator image?

Things like gaussian blur, drop shadows and inner glows are all raster effects (bitmaps). Illustrator renders them at a fixed resolution. When you scale the image / effect up, illustrator will re-render them, still at this fixed resolution. In Illustrator, go to "Document Properties". A...

    Creating a circle using pictures

Hi Martin, Personally, I'd use Illustrator for that. Draw the flags as they are, group them together. Open up the brushes palette, drag the set of flags onto it. Draw your circle, then with the circle selected, double click the new "flag brush" that you just made. This will then stroke...

What is the best method of storing and calling up brushes

Hey Dad. You can "reset" your brushes to the default set and remove brush sets from the same part of the brush palette that you add new brushes from. The brush files stay in the brushes folder, so if you want to use them, you just add them again :)

Hi Dad. I can't recall ever using 3d is cs5 yet, but I just had a little rummage around.... I created a new shape layer, and then chose "repousse" from the 3d drop downmenu. Once the 3d dialogue box pops up, in the upper right hand section, there are 6 "materials" options. When you click on...
