    How can I add an inner glow wherever I want?

    Hi I am new to photoshop. I want to add an inner glow border around parts of my image. I want the border to look like the first picture attached (border1.jpg). I want that same border around where I drew pink on the second image attached (border.jpg).

    How can I brush in shadows over text?

    I am trying to make some shadows on the bottom part of my text. The text is on its own layer but when I use a black brush tool, it messes up everything. I have tried messing with the brush opacity but nothing works.
