In addition, these are pictures about neurons in the brain. The circular ones are nucleus. The long, thread-like structures are neuron. Normally, the original pictures do not show clear boundary between structures. Look like these guys made the neurons emerged from structures below- Dai Le

Thank you for your reply Steve, I believe these photos were taken from fluorescent microscope. Then, those guys photoshoped the original photos to make them look like that. Does this answer your question?- Dai Le
