Trying to ungrey "define brush preset"
I had this problem too. My selection (and my image) weren't over 2500 pixels. I had 2 layers, an empty background, and the layer with the brush design on it. There was no text to rasterize, and the image mode was set to greyscale. I saved the image, closed the file and reloaded it...- eveypd
