    Thanks Welles,a very simple solution to a anoying problem---see,we are dragging out lots of uses,keep it up everybody. I had a play with this tool,you can do "art" with it LOL one pixel selection from garden photo,transform,scale/distort

    I have used PS7 for many years but have never found a practical use for the single row/column marquee tool,am i missing something? could someone enlighten me as to practical uses.

    There probably is a better way,there usually is in PS.glad to be of help. I think it looks great.

    select half of the wire using rect marq. edit--transform--rotate then move rotation point to the end of the selection (about the middle of the wire) and then rotate a few degrees. keep repeating this proceedure moving the selection box along the wire.

    if you select "paths" in the tool bar you have a closed path without a fill---or have I misunderstood the question. :(ps7)
