After prevaricating for thirteen years I threw everything to one side and began to teach myself how to make montages.

From 2011 onwards I began to teach my self montage using my own images as source material. Throwing unrelated images together and trying to turn them into some sort of harmony.

Some two years later I received a very encouraging email from Catherine McIntyre indicating that I was beginning to look into myself for inspiration.

I find now that the software is about ten percent of the knowledge I need, the rest comes from what I've found out about colour, composition and harmony. On top of that though is a great deal of patience, sometimes it may take a couple of days to arrive at something that I like.

The whole thing stretches my mind like nothing else ever has and the feeling of achievement is immense.

My stuff is figurative, I am the figure, always available to pose.
