Hi all, recently i found a tutorial on how to set the brush to make it brush out like a hair. but i follow the steps it doesn't seems to change to that setting i follow on the tutorial.
any kind soul can help me with this.

okay. so i now change both foreground to black color and un-check the reverse button.
Now select the mask and using gradient from left to middle and right to middle
here the final mask out:
Is this correct ?
okay so i have de-select before adding a layer mask.
Added layer mask:
now added gradient tool from left to middle and right to middle
After adding the gradient mask look like this its not the same as yours.
on the other note i did un-check the reserve button on the gradient toll...
i can't view at the attachment you provide. i am using a linear gradient but the mask and your just doesn't look alike compare to mine. it still doesn't look translucent to me. how can i improve on this ?

Am i doing the correct way its seems like your second layer and mine totally different.
i was trying to combine 6 image together this is how i do it.
1) create a new image 2560x768
2)so let say 2560 x 768 my image comes with portrait so 6 image = 2560/6 = 426.6. i resize my image to 426.6 x 768 without aspect ratio lock because if lock was on the number will jump. but...
