    Thanks Paul! :) It appears to be working ok for the present anyway. For the future tho, any tips on WHY the text wouldn't function in a layer and how to get around that? Thanks again! Kristen

    When I went back I succeeded in deleted the url that appeared in the right column of the layers. And somehow I got the text to type. It's after midnite. Going to bed. Tomorrow I'll complete the text & see if I can add the jpg. Thanks for letting me vent. ;-) Goodnite.
