    The 3D states were probably done with Illustrator. It has a much better extrude tool.

    Bezial Curve in Selection Tools

    I haven't been a big fan of the photoshop pen tool, mostly because it doesn't work quite as well as the pen tool in Illustrator. I could probably use some more "get acquainted" time with this tool. Thanks for the help!

    How to get this effect

    Whenever I'm doing an image that like this, I will create either a left or right half of the image to completion and merge or flatten layers if necessary. Then, I'll create an empy layer, place it underneath the graphic layer, double the width of the canvas, then, mirror the image and place...
