    Thanks. I have used those settings and the ones for the 8 bit image but neither works. It works perfectly, turning it high pass grey then looking normal when I blend with Linear Light but then goes wrong on the very last step.

    I have tried both 8 and 16 bit with the correct Apply Image settings for both but it goes grey regardless. It has worked perfectly before and now it’s stopped suddenly. I’m wondering if somehow a Photoshop setting has changed without me knowing.

    I have used FS many times before with no problem. However, despite using exactly the same process, on the second blurring, instead of smoothing out the skin, it now turns it grey. Can anyone suggest why this might be?
