    Mark, I tried the high pass technique and works rather well. I was wondering though, is there an advantage to using this technique over unsharp mask?

    I think once you get the hang of Illustrator, it will make certain jobs easier. But I've never had the patience and always end up going back to old familiar photoshop. Basically, what i'm trying to say is "I feel your pain."

    thanks wbiss, an intermediate matte color sounds like it will do the trick. One more question though: how do I select a matte color in imageready? I'm trying to animate my emoticons.
