    OK I figured this out, in case you were interested. There were two layers. The first was the one IamSam posted. I found the other one in the trash can: I paste this over the regular layer with the drawing, Normal setting, then use teh magic wand and delete portions of the top image...

    yes it is the tattered distressed look I was talking about. I'm checking out the suggestion in the above post.

    I think it used vector masks, but I can't remember for sure. I Don't really have any more information, so if you need more I guess I'm out of luck.

    see attach I have a template in the background. I have a selection from another image that I cut and pasted into the template. The obviously don't match and I want them to appear the same size (they are the same proportions) BUT I need them to match precisely, ie I need the image to fit...
