    altering clipart with paths

The best way is to use pen tool and bezier curves to outline the design. Activate selection and fill with black on new layer. Activate each part of the image seperately to move where you need to. Any other way will give you jaggy edges and poor results.

Help with a Plastic Window Glare Problem

Do it one section at a time, top is easiest, start there. Make a marquee around top half, now using Color Range select the highlights (save selection). Now run a marquee around bottom half and use Color Range to select tent color & any highlights (save selection). Activate both selections and...

    Making an Accurate Selection

Quickmasking and Pen tool are best bet. I've worked with companies like Coldwater Creek and they are fanatical about the items being removed from background and we always use pen tool/quick masking.

    ring of flags.....

    1) Start cruising google for HI-RES flag images of the ones you want. 2) Silo those flags and have each it's own layer for individual adjustment. 3) place each flag generally where ya want them. 4) You can either use "transform" and the sub categories there to make each flag look like it's...

Help creating a photoshop action to batch resize

Question: Are they all similar orientation to start off with? If so...have image open, open actions palette and hit record new action. Resize image to 200 pixels wide with height locked proportionately. Hit save and then close. Hit stop on actions palette. Assign that action a hot key like...

    Photoshop Painting Techniques

Here's a quickly done color change. 1) Use color range to get most of wall color selected and then use brushes in quickmask to clean up and add/remove as needed. 2) Use a layer set "solid color" and choose color. Set that layer style to "color" or "hue" (whichever looks best). 3) If needed...

CS5 breaks image with weird pattern

If overused the healing brush does the exact opposite...it messes images up. It looks at the surrounding pixels and builds from there. Cannot beat good old cloning...the healing tool is a nice helper, but shouldn't be main tool you use to fix a larger area.

    Help creating graphics

There's three things going on here you'd need to reproduce: 1) The guy would need to be soft-masked to make him look natural when pulled out of his background. 2) The main graphic (that red/black swirly thing) would need to be made. Probably done in Illustrator. 3) The layouts black and red...

How do i change cloth pattern but keep the folds and shadows?

For the intended use of this project, the results were more than good. :) Masking, masking...masking! Without good masks, it's really hard to do good corrections. If I could pass on ONE bit of PhotoShop knowledge I've learned the last 13 years...making good masks would be it.

Colours not matching between images -- please help!

    1) What color space are you working in? Some, like CMYK aren't going to be the best way to work. 2) Unless your upper image is a solid color, you will see variances along the edges where the upper meets the lower image. Maybe a solid border of the background color can be run around the upper...
