    so in the past I've tried to give the effect of light glowing out of something,, and never found a tutorial on the particular effect I was looking for, I've done it in the past but it never looks very good and isn't very convenient. here is a manipulation I did in the past to show the effect...

    scan retouch help

    ok so I have a note I scanned into my computer. unfortunatly the paper was foldded and two sided. so the folds and text of the back show through any advice on how to retouch this would be appreciated. thanks in advance I'll attach a section of the scan so you can see exactly what I mean
