    How would you create the long, black dropshadow surrounding the white text. There also appears to be a stroke around the text. I can get some drop shadow fine by just adding several dropshadow layers. However, notice how the black creates almost like a color background behind the white text...

    Hello, I'm bumping this thread to ask another question about the ar 15. Would converting the image to black and white prior to applying the threshold adjustment make a difference? When I do the adjustment as directed above, using a similar image, it doesn't come out quite like yours IamSam.

    Yes! Exactly like that! I've been playing around with the previous steps and I can pretty much get everything except the transparent parts. It's so frustrating, but it's mostly because I picked some more advanced concepts to tackle as a newbie. lol
