Issues with the way Photoshop resizes

I've been using Photoshop to do art assets for video game projects. I'm somewhat new to this stuff, but I'm getting it done. One of the things I often have to do is create sprite sheets and tilesheets. What these are, are single images that contain many frames. Imagine a checkerboard with a...

    Need a new wacom.. Intuos4 or Intuos5?

I got this Intuos3 6x11" new in early 2006. It has served me well; I've gone from knowing nothing about art to doing great things with it, illustrating everything from comic books to video game sprites. The downside to six years of constant use, though, is that it's beat to hell. The surface is...

I draw and animate in photoshop!

technically you can do that in photoshop. the way animation works in photoshop is pretty straight forward. you have frames, you have a drawing in each frame. layers being on or off and position of things in layers can be tracked from frame to frame too which is a feature I make heavy use of to...

I draw and animate in photoshop!

it's a stupid nickname I came up with when I was a kid and I just kept using it for things. easy to keep track of that way. I held off on using it for my ebay name, though, as to not make anyone uneasy. lol. incidentally that's where I put "quick" in my name instead of twotiming.

I draw and animate in photoshop!

Thanks. I'd say traditional animation is well beyond me. I have to resort to a lot of tricks with layers and a lot of trial and error to even get 2D video game style art to look somewhat okay. a 10 or 12 frame run cycle can take me hours and hours on end to get to look decent.

I draw and animate in photoshop!

you flatter me, thanks. I still have a lot to learn and most of what I do just comes from experimentation/determination. here's some animation that some of you may find interesting. this is basically taking layer-animating to its logical conclusion. Here I made a cute mech and seperated its...

I draw and animate in photoshop!

thanks, in addition to being attention starved like many other artists, it may also be a round about way of poking a new area of the internet to see if by chance any other developers (particularly programmers) may want to collaborate on a game (probably a simple flash game to start). :) just...

I draw and animate in photoshop!

I'm a bit of a nerd and I've been drawing comics and doing animated sprites and stuff for a while, and I use photoshop for everything, start to finish. I don't even sketch on paper. I use the brush tool for most stuff! for example, this is all brush (although I started with a font for the...

Am I missing something? Help with CS4

woh! it's already fixed. I guess this is the way around both "problems". I guess this may be useful to anyone else who wants up on the touchstrip to be zoom in instead of zoom out. :)

Am I missing something? Help with CS4

I may have found a way around the zooming speed. what I did was go into photoshop's CTRL-K and set the zooming to the mouse wheel. this gave a nice fast speed. but now the touch strip won't zoom. BUT then I went to the the wacom properties and set the touch strip to scroll... and now it's...

Am I missing something? Help with CS4

ive got those but they seem to do nothing. I think the issue here is that CS3 zoomed by, if I recall, degrees of 12.5% per notch, and CS4 is zooming by much finer increments. for me, I am used to BAM zooming way in and BAM zooming way out with one swipe, rather than having to swipe several...

Am I missing something? Help with CS4

I used CS3 for years. I use it with a wacom intuos3 tablet. the tablet has a finger slider that I have always used to quickly zoom in and out. Over years this among other things became a fluid part of my workflow. I managed to get CS4 thanks to a friend and while I like some of the new...
