How to expand the background of an image?

As you can see, the image above has a plain grey background. However, it is quite small, and I would like to expand the grey background until it is much bigger. Also, there is white text between the red and green legs of the creatures. How do I remove that as well?

    How to do EXACT recoloring?

yes. and there some parts of the image, such as the REELZ logo, that i'd like to stay dark. but as the REELZ logo is not completely black, it changes color as well. anyway to prevent this?

    How to do EXACT recoloring?

    img850.imageshack.us/img850/4964/64018664.png Sorry I can't use the IMG code yet. I can't get a B value of 62, instead I get 94. This is because I can't move the slider value beyond -100. :banghead: I'm really an ultra-noob.

    How to do EXACT recoloring?

Let's say I have a simple image with some text and a blue background, RGB (32, 45, 213) I want to recolor the image such that the blue background changes to a green background. I want the green background to be an exact colour, RGB (34, 176, 62) How do I get about doing that? Thanks.
