    Wishing Welles a Happy Retirement...

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and good wishes. About a month ago I determined to create a new business. With that decision, my main creative focus switched (truly switched, as in flipping a switch to a new circuit) from the graphic arts to writing. Rather than just disappearing, I...

    I Have an Idea

A simple possibility would be to take a 3D program, create your scene, move your sun to reflect the passage through the day and render however many images you wanted. Place all your images into a folder and in the Desktop pref pane, select the folder and choose to change image every hour or...

    Levitation?

Hi Kitty, Welcome to the forums. What you will have to do is create a selection around the person who's image you wish to place above the sea and then extract the selected portion of the image and place it on the new background. There are a lot of issues which we would keep in mind to merge two...

How about moving it to Filter Talk? There's some fine info on the site for plugin fans.

    linking layers

In CS2 it works a little differently. Highlight the layers you wish to move by Shift Clicking on a range of contiguous layers or Command (Control) click on individual layers until all are selected. At that point you can Right Click and link them prior to dragging all the highlighted layers to...

    undulating line

Limey, I believe the 'roughness' is the vector shape's outline you are seeing. Photoshop adds that to indicate that it is active. Try hitting Command H (Control on PC ) to hide that line and see if your complaint is resolved.

    Lost images???

Yeah, I do have a suggestion or two. When I'm stumped with Mac issues, I go to the Mac OS X Hints and the Apple forums and ask there. Both require free simple registration but both are likely places to get answers to Mac related problems faster than AppleCare very often. I resort to AppleCare as...

    making the impossible, Possible.

I think Wendy's expertise was developed through the understanding of displacement maps. In fact, it may be that her original inspiration came from this tutorial which was on the Guru's Network for a long time and now is hosted at... http://www.thegoldenmean.com/technique/displace8.html

    Lost images???

Lee, Here's a list of the way drag and drop options are supposed to work... Drag to a new location within the same volume: move Option-Drag to a new location within the same volume: copy Command-Option-Drag to a new location within the same volume: create alias Drag to a new location within a...

    Lost images???

It's holding down the option key which makes duplicated during the drag and drop process, is your option key stuck maybe? I'd try unplugging my keyboard and plugging it back in. I'd check the input menu (in the International control panel) and makes sure that the Keyboard layout is set to US.

    Lost images???

Lee, Doesn't Aperture make a database of the images you save or include in it? Are those the images you have lost? I would try runing a search for one of your missing images. Highlight the thumbnail and you will see the path at the bottom of the Find window. Double click on the folder in that...
