    Even through, try copy the layer and make your copy a overlay. That is a very fast way to do it, but it's not the beautiest. :P

    I guess it isn't a effect, It's proably the light in the photo studio where the pictures are taken. Else you can try play around with your saturation settings. It's about make the colors "stronger", make the shadow and the light appear stronger in the picture with a larger difference between...
