Custom Pixelation patterns

Hello

I am wondering if anyone has any pointers on how I might generate a custom pixelation pattern. For example if I wanted the base photo (image #1) to be pixelated based on the pattern shown (image #2). Creating an effect not unlike image #3

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Shane

Hi Teak604,

There is a filter in Ps that's similar...........

Go to FILTER > PIXELATE > CRYSTALLIZE then set your cell size.

Thanks for the reply IamSam!

That is the definitely effect I am looking for. I am actually fairly specific in this case though that I am able to use some sort of image map to drive the filter results. I am hoping to be able to process the same image with different drivers for a study of sorts that I am doing. Any further thoughts would be very much appreciated!
