I recently had to reinstall Photoshop cs5, because of some viruses on my computer. Then I tried to download some updates. I just got the message - There was an error downloading this download. Please try again later. What do I do?

They're still not working. I tried downloading one from the site, but couldn't tell if it was dowloading. I'm not sure which ones I need unless my computer tells me I need it.

I believe if you find the latest update to your software the other previous updates will be inclusive. Are you on Windows? What version? What browser are you using?
Looks like the last one for CS5 , either 32 or 64 bit was on 8-09-2011

I'm assuming that you are on Windows, as ALB68 said can you specify your OS and Browser that you use. Maybe try downloading from another PC.

Do you have any issues downloading updates from other applications? Have you completely removed the viruses?
Try these to make sure your PC is virus free. All Free

Also what Anti-Virus do you use if any, if not install this

Hope this helps

Updates from other programs seem to be installing. I tried downloading the update directly from the site, but got the same error message. After it downloads it fails to install. And I just had my computer in at a shop that assures me that they took all viruses off and then I had to start over and install all my programs again. They looked at it again and thought it was a problem of Photoshop not being registered, but that turned out not to be the case. I talked to customer support and called the number for adobe, but neither of them could figure out the problem. I'm using AVG now for my virus control.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Adobe Updates!
Don't feel bad about the situation, Adobe realise that their Update software is about as useful as a one legged man in a bum kicking contest which is why they produced this.......

The Adobe CC Cleaner Tool

Now before you think that its no good, it also works for CS3 - CS6 too......so you should be good to go.

How strictly you follow the guide is up to you, you may feel that backing-up and un-installing is unnecessary, I dunno, its your decision.

I have used this 'tool' before and it does work, although that's no guarantee it'll work in your situation but from what you've said it sounds like a good 'clear out' is required.

Try it at least, what have you to lose?

Regards.
MrTom.
