    Photoshop Layers Panel Keyboard Shortcuts

Wasn't sure if this was the right forum to post this cheat sheet. Almost everytime I create an Action that involves Layers, I invariably go lookup the keyboard shortcuts as they often work better than mouse or trackpad clicks when recording an Action. So I put together this Keyboard Shortcuts...

Levels input widow is not highlighted

If there is not something else in the systems interrelated with this issue, this sounds like a PS bug. A minor bug yet still a bug. John Wheeler

Levels input widow is not highlighted

Definitley inconsistent behavior among our systems. For a Levels Adjustment Layer, the black point comes preselected and the tab key rotates among all the numeric input positions. Go Figure John Wheeler

Levels input widow is not highlighted

Very Odd. I just updated to the most recent version of Photoshop (26.5.0) and when I open the Levels Adjustment Command the tab function works just fine. I am using a Mac with Sonoma OS. I know the behavior of commands can change somewhat depending on Mode, e.g. RGB vs CMYK, vs Lab etc and...

Levels input widow is not highlighted

Offhand, I think it is normal to need to use the tab key when using the Image > Adjustments > Levels command when there are no boxes pre-selected. Hoever, note that the Black Point Box is highlighted blue when you use a Levels Adjust Layer. Is it possible that you have used both and expected...

    Color matching problem

You may have not run into a problem before as using sRGB is pretty common. Yet to avoid your problem in the future, having both your sample PSD file in sRGB and you file you are editing in the same color space (scale) is ot have it in sRGB as well. If you want that to be automatic, you can...

    Color matching problem

Hi Puppychew You are correct, you will have really messed up colors if you sample colors from an image with a different color space (e.g. sRGB) and then try and use that sample in anothe color space (e.g. ProPhoto RGB). The sampling process moves the exact same color numbers from you...

    Cannot Save Files

What would also help is what happens when you try and Save the file from PS. Do you get an error messsge, does it act like me it saved yet the file is not found etc. also, are you saving as a Joey? Does it save in any other format? Any extra clues you have or can try would help debug the...

    Cannot Save Files

Can you include the actual file in a post (or a link to the image on a file-sharing app, e.g., Dropbox) to be examined? Also, if you could attach a file that does not have the problem, it would help as well. The metadata could be reviewed to see what is different or if there are any other...

Another Smart Object resizing problem, driving me nuts! :(

Hi @timoat First, there are two important resolution numbers. The first is the PPI (pixels per inch) of the image. The best for the P900 is 360 or 720. Anything higher will not make a difference and will be resampled to a lower number by the printer. Not a big deal. I understand the printer...

Another Smart Object resizing problem, driving me nuts! :(

Hi @timoat As a side note, I also have a p900 and the ideal image PPI to present to the image is either 360 or 720. 360 should be fine. At that resolution, the printer is not doing some internal resizing for you. You had mentioned 350 ppi and did not know if that was a typo. This is...

Another Smart Object resizing problem, driving me nuts! :(

Hi @timoat I may not understand the exact details of what you are doing from one image to the other, yet I think the root cause is that the destination image is not high enough resolution. I took your first post image and cut a small section on the right side image and place in on the left...

    Photoshop Stuck on a Save

Hi @maggie2 First, an observation. Several of your last posts indicate possible computer problems, which may be resource issues such as low memory or hard disk space, etc. It could also mean there is an intermittent failure lurking. Hardware tests can be run on Mac and PC systems to put it...

    Remove football pitch

Hi Daryl I don't know how familiar you are with Photoshop, yet it's pretty straightforward. Under the original image Layer, put a complete black Layer Then, with the image Layer selected, you select all the green areas with the magic wand tool or the polygonal lasso tool (or whatever selection...
