How to move the elliptical tool in Photoshop

I apologize, you partially answered my question, but I did not explain what I was trying to do, with the marching ants. When you have your oval, around that window area, is there any way to "move and stretch" for a lack of a better term, where the marching ants are more of a "free flow"? I...

How to move the elliptical tool in Photoshop

My friend was trying to show me another way of making the selection around this Gulfstream window in the jet and when he went to go move the marching ants section, Photoshop "cut out" the selection. How do you actually move the marching ants portion, and without cutting out the area in the...

    How to make specific selections

Help me understand your comments better please? I'm not a Photoshop whiz at all. What do you mean make your path at 200 to 300% zoom and cut out into the cabin at least 1 or 2 pixels. I do see the dark outline that I have in places. That is one part I want to certainly avoid. Thank you!!

    How to make specific selections

Here is my latest attempt at "mastering" the pen tool. Still need to work on it. I'm thinking I need "more" pen points so I can get more precise with my selection before I put a gradient in it?

    How to make specific selections

I am certainly not "there" yet, but I felt better with this result. I know that I have a long way to go and I'll get there, just have to work with it over and over.

    How to make specific selections

I'm on a Mac, too and I just can't figure it out. I've done "Command Click" and can't get rid of the point. Also, I still never get the marching ants. So frustrating.

    How to make specific selections

Would that be the same as "Command" Click? Thanks for your help!

    How to make specific selections

Thank you for explaining this new technique which I think I can finally grasp. I still think I messed up somewhere along the way. Still have trouble with getting only the top portion to move without it not changing the bottom portion. Here are four screen shots.

    How to make specific selections

Thanks for all your help with this. I shoot in high resolution RAW format. These are just converted over to JPEGS for this thread only. Drink LOTS of water tonight, it will help the hangover. Or so I've been told! LOL !! :)

    How to make specific selections

I swear this is going to be the death of me. Surely this can't be that hard to understand, but your's truly cannot grasp this, at all. I even watched another video and I still get hung up. I want to master this but still cannot figure out exactly how to make the curves flow correctly into...

    How to make specific selections

Thank you so much for explaining this better. I have watched the tutorial about six times already, guess I'll watch it another six times and practice your tips also. Really appreciate this!

    How to make specific selections

I used the pen tool to go around this window, yet I don't get the "marching ants". What have I done wrong and how do I make the selection even more precise?

    How to make specific selections

If it is the best way to make a precise selection, I'll go with it. Thank you!

    How to make specific selections

Thanks. So is there no way to draw around a window in the jet, for examples, using a lasso tool or something else and refining the edges where it isn't so jaded or the magic wand? Just curious.

    How to make specific selections

I want to learn the BEST and quickest way to make a precise selection around these windows without having a jagged edge around the inside part of the windows, so I can add a gradient to the inside part of the windows. I am NOT a photoshop expect at all, but you all were so wonderful a year ago...

    Photo Grid App Example

I have attached the most recent screen shot. After watching your video I realized I was pulling the gradient too far over in the photo. I think this looks pretty good.

    Photo Grid App Example

That is all fine and dandy, did not understand your step 100%, no matter what, it still blurs the entire photo.

    Photo Grid App Example

Which linear do I use? I don't have just a "normal" linear function in the choices I see from the screen shot I am posting. No matter which one I try and I am in the layer mask, the entire "top" image, Layer 2 becomes blurred.

    Photo Grid App Example

I finally understood all the steps and followed them as best as I could. I'm down to the last step with the gradients and I don't understand that part. The part about dragging the gradients. When I tried it, the entire image became blurry.

Started all over and here are the two screen shots. First one is where I was about to crop the Original Girl 2 and the second one is after I cropped it.
