I'd Like Some Help Finding Scratched Backgrounds

Generative Fill wasn't introduced until the unveiling of Photoshop 25. I'm using the CS2 version.

I'd Like Some Help Finding Scratched Backgrounds

That's a good start - thank you very much. I don't use any other image software, just Photoshop. But the bigger the sample I have to start with, the better my chances are at creating detailed paths from channels and such. Once again, I appreciate everyone's help; its truly appreciated.

I'd Like Some Help Finding Scratched Backgrounds

They want free trials for most of that stuff, and in a lot of cases, they want you to provide some kind of financial info so they can charge you later for a subscription. I'm not looking for that kind of thing.

I'd Like Some Help Finding Scratched Backgrounds

Thanks, but I'm on a pretty tight budget and would rather not add any more financial pressures to my list. I was hoping some folks around here might just have some sample images they'd be willing to share.

I'd Like Some Help Finding Scratched Backgrounds

Hey, all. I've been trying to add scratch and tear effects to some of my logo designs, and due to the original resolution of the starting image some of my path attempts haven't turned out exactly right. I searched Google Images for resources but couldn't find anything, so I thought asking here...

Some of My More Recent Projects...

Given my recent "re-obsession" with all things Smallville, I decided to redraft the show's iconic logo into a more weathered or damaged version. I started with an SVG file I found online, converted it into a Photoshop shape, and then started experimenting with different types of other paths to...

Some of My More Recent Projects...

OK, so I spent more than half of yesterday and all of today, rebuilding these DVD covers for "Smallville". Thankfully, someone else had already done the back panels, and for the most part they were in pretty good shape. But I had to rebuild all the front panels and the spines myself, from the...

Some of My More Recent Projects...

Unlike my older red Spider-Man covers, which were done for the DVDs that came out 15 years ago, these black designs were done for the Blu-Rays. I decided to keep things more minimal this time around, leaving out the photos in favor of the summaries and posters. I made three covers for each...

Some of My More Recent Projects...

Here's a few more sets of DVD covers I did in years past - I'm still pretty proud of them overall. The ones for "Roswell" were deliberately patterned after the original DVD releases from 2004 (the studio later redesigned them, to capitalize on Katherine Heigl's star status). I didn't use any...

Clone Stamp Tool Practice Thread #1

In my opinion, the Clone Tool is one of the most difficult parts of Photoshop to handle. It can be very temperamental, and is best used along with the Healing Brush. The Patch Tool can also be useful, but if different colors are too close together the resulting effect can be disastrous.

Does Anyone Here Collect Movie Photographs?

I was just wondering about this, since I have some extensive collections of high-resolution movie pictures on my computer. I'm not talking screencaps either, but large stills that I've tracked down from multiple sources. Google's Advanced Image Search has been extremely helpful for this, and I...

    Wizard Of Oz Colorization

I disagree about the saturation levels being too much. You have to remember that this movie was originally shot in 1939, and Technicolor was still very bright and vivid then. Plus, it was a film that was purposely done with imagination and wonderment in mind, so all the visuals were done to...

Composite Some Works only with fun

VERY impressive! You must have a ton of free time on your hands...and I say that as someone who mostly does as well.

Some of My More Recent Projects...

Aside from logos, I actually started tinkering with Photoshop when I was trying to make customized cover artwork, for my DVD collection. One of my first successful and completed attempts was for the Back to the Future trilogy, and to this day I'm pretty satisfied with them, even though I don't...

Some of My More Recent Projects...

OK, trying this again, with larger (and hopefully more clear) images this time. Enjoy!

Some of My More Recent Projects...

Hmm...that is very odd. Usually, when I include the links to the host site I use, you can click them and the full-size ones will pop up in a new window. Let me shrink some of my bigger ones down so PSG can manage them, and I'll update the original post.

Some of My More Recent Projects...

I'm no expert in Photoshop by any means; its mostly a carefree pastime for me. But I've been learning a lot over the past few years about paths and custom shapes, which works really well when you want to re-create a logo or something similar in a bigger size, and can't find what your after...

    Hi, Everybody!

Greetings! My name is Josh, and I found this place from a standard Google search. I've been using Photoshop in some capacity or another since 2002, when I first learned the basics in college. My grades back then were terrible, but I've learned much more through trial and error. I don't make any...
