    Hiya

I actually don't want to deal with 'GURUS'. Referring to oneself as a guru of 'anything' seems a bit over the top. 'Experienced' but still on the learning curve is what I am I've made a living with Photoshop for many many many many many etc. years. Yet I still learn something new here almost...

Acrobat launches, but then tells me it can't run and shuts down

I had to go through the same process. I loaded the suite on a new machine but preferred to use Acrobat 7.08. I'm not fond of the way Acro 8 with Pitstop [ doesn't work ] Then Pitstop came up with version 7.03 in which they made it compatible with Acro 8. So in order to load up 8, I had to...

Acrobat launches, but then tells me it can't run and shuts down

sounds like it's part of one of the CS3 suites, If so, all the apps work with the same s/n and activation code. You must activate the suite with PS or Ill or ID in order for Acrobat to open. You may have to un-install the suite and start over and activate Acrobat at the same time you activate...

    New Here

You weren't all that harsh Mindbender..I fail to see much creativity or imagination involved in downloading existing images, photoshopping them some, adding a text effect with some layer style and presenting the thing to the world for approval. So that said ( harshly ), Groundrunner, why not...

I need help on this one

One way would be to make a copy and extract what you don't want from it. then apply some blending effects to the 'outlined' copy..See attached

Hi there and maybe some help?

Ashley, when you ask for help of this sort, it always helps us if you post the photo you'd like worked on and a sample showing what you'd like to achieve. A sample.. :righton:

    Odd problem

There may be some errant code embedded in the image that won't let it be saved as a .jpg (???) I have had that happen when saving as .png. Try 'save for web' instead and choose .jpg there.

    humming bird?

OK Terp... these both are much better images. Now if you can zoom in ( I'd suggest a tripod ) and try to fill the frame with the bird, you may capture something to work with. As you can see, the rest of the photo is of little or no value. :righton:

    humming bird?

 There's really nothing you can do with this image. It's out of focus, grainy, dirty and soft. As much as you want a crisp image, the best way to get one is 'in the camera' Photoshop can do wonders with 'clean' camera images. But it can't perform miracles. I'd suggest you work on your...

    Color change

if all you're trying to do is extract the background ( delete the water ) then poke around this forum a bit. There's tons of threads on extraction. As to the boat, as Mindbender said, there is some technique involved that calls for more than simply removing the images on the boat and coloring...

Photoshop locks up my computer! Help!

Hardware issues are difficult to either diagnose or reply to, and it sounds like you've got a hardware problem especially when you use a different card and everything is ok. sounds to me that this is a 'no brainer'. You need a new graphics card. \:/

Trying to swap 2 peoples heads!

you seem to be going through an awful lot to achieve a relatively simple thing. Just copy the big head and paste it over the small head. Then copy a portion of the background and place it over the area the big head occupies. turn off the copied head and merge visible. now copy the small head...

Monochrome effect? Sin City idea with red only

If you study Frank Millers work, I think you'll find that the 'reds' you mention are either separated out of high contrast single or multi-level black and white posterizations on a 2nd layer or done by hand or both. Sort of like the attached.

Two Color T-shirt Design (Lights and Darks)...any ideas?...Pics inside!

This should get you started.. I haven't done this before so someone may have a better way. A ) extract the background and copy it to a new window with a transparent background as layer 1 B ) copy layer 1 and give the copy a color overlay (layer 2 ). Posterize layer 1 ( this is level 5...

    duplicating backgrounds?

simply put....no. however, if the background is on a website, you usually can 'save background as'. But that, of course, depends on how the website was done. ( a wysiwyg program or html ) \:/

    2 Questions

there is no 'tool' per se that will identify a font. I'd love to invent one, I'd probabby get rich :bustagut: As to the second part of your question, depending on the background, copy and paste could work and the clone tool. However, as Mindbender mentioned, using the clone tool effectively...

    Need help with images

Gaussian... so now I know. This is one of those 'rock / hard place' things. Still, it seems to me that, considering both the limitations of your storage and our internet capabilities, (Those who are limited ), Placing things on image shack would be even more desirable. I spend a lot of my...

    Need help with images

I just visited Planetphotoshop and yes, I can make a very detailed tutorial like the ones there ( and on many other sites ) But these are forum threads with people asking specific questions. They're looking for quick answers. All I'm trying to do is address their immediate needs. Not necessarily...
