    how does this look? basically all i did was smooth the image on a duplicate layer. then added the detail back using the hightpass filter plus some color correction

    i agree there are some parts that look good but other bits that need to be removed. eg.. the blood on her nose plus the dark/dried blood around her mouth

    that was my first post. only i didnt say delete the sky which i would have done to. but if you really need it to look like a sunny day then its never going to look right unless the people have hard shadows under them

    the 1 thing that helps the image is the eyes. i added a small white dot in each eye (reflection)

    MrLOD i wish i could say it looks better but in my opinion the original looks better then your improvement. thats just my opinion but to me it just looks blurred you have removed to much detail. here is a tut that might help http://creativetechs.com/tipsblog/how-to-smooth-skin-in-photoshop/

    i would first duplicate the image then "Screen" blend the duplicate. then i would use the burn tool on the tree to darken parts that would have shadow if it was a sunny day. also i would try add sharper shadows to the people thats the difference between a sunny and overcast day
