Best Photoshop Product for a beginner.

You know, I think I still have that cd here somewhere... don't think I ever beat it. The weird cartoon monsters dropped over the photo realistic sets always came off as a weird choice. That really depends on you. I never found Photoshop hard to learn, I actually have more problems sitting down...

    Large Aiptec V Small Wacom

I've asked that question a number of times over the years and the answer I keep coming back to is that Wacom rules the tablet world. They're simply a much better built tablet, higher quality in every way. Something to consider is that Wacom makes several levels of tablets. You might consider a...

    simple layering problem?

Or make a new document the final size of all the documents you want and then import them all into that document. Either way works, just depends where you want to start. I always work on a copy or a new document... never know what could happen to destroy un-replaceable originals during the course...

    Spot Color

Oh really? What are tints for then? :) If you're already doing a document with spot colors, why would you have them revert part of it to process just for one color effectively making the price of the print job 5 times more expensive when you don't have to? also... 100% K isn't always black...

show hide several layers at one time

Make layer sets and put the layers you want to be together in a layer set, put other ones you want in another layer set. Then you can activate or deactivate the visibility of that layer set with one click in the layer palette and everything in the set will become visible or invisible with it...

    Levels of Undo

You need to change the way that it behaves not how much undo you have. It's counter-intuitive I know. I don't remember if you can just change it in the preferences or you have to change the keyboard shortcuts in CS2... but basically you want to assign cmd+z to "history back" rather than undo...

Invert Text and Background Colour within Specific Area

Is this what you meant? Just set the text to white and the blending mode to 'difference' and place it above the dark shape (see layer example). Welcome to PSG :)

    Spot Color

Well... I gotta say that any company that doesn't want you to use Illustrator is already suspect. Photoshop isn't a great application for dealing with spot colors... it's possible... but not very feature rich when it comes to pre-press. You can do things like build duotones, or multi-channel...

    Opening Files

You just need to sample colors from them? If you saved the image as a composite ( "maximize compatibility" ) then you should be able to use just about any modern image browsing program should be able to open the flattened version for viewing. If you want to access channel data or the CLUT that...

I think I broke my brush!!

On your tool palette switch from the "pencil" tool to the "brush" tool. (click and hold the icon or right click to get to the hidden tools).

    Spot Color

What applications are you planning on using? Illustrator is better for dealing with spot colors or inDesign. What did your print shop have to say about it? They are the ones that will have to output the actual files, so they will have specific requirements about how to deal with the files and...

    Image Extraction Request?

Because the OP didn't ask for help, they asked for work to be done for them. if you worked at a restaurant, and someone came in asking for food... you'd expect them to pay... right? It's not, intrinsically, but if you ask for work to be done, expect that you will have to compensate the worker...

    uninstalling fonts

Installing software doesn't always mean spending money. There are some good freeware font managers out there. Not always true. Many font managers will just make a list of what fonts you have installed as well and allow you to manage those. Sounds like ronmatt is all set though, so it's moot...

    Airbrush work

Yes, it can be done. Time really depends on how much needs to be done to the photos as well as budget for the project.

Why not just use a font manager to manage them all?

Adding item to image / Deleting background items???

What I'm talking about is rebuilding several 3D objects. For an experienced artist, this isn't going to be too hard, but it's not simply a click-n-clone procedure like it would be to remove the flowers. This assumes you're trying to get the armrest of the chair to look right. If you're just...

Is there an easy way to darken 200 files quick for game map

Re: Game map help Why not just make the detail with one brush then use the "emboss" feature to do the effect?
