    Color Help

Pantone solid coated and uncoated are swatches that come with Photoshop. In your picker click on custom then pull up the swatch you want. use the eyedropper to choose the color you want then go back to the picker. Your Pantone color will be there anong with the HSB-LAB-RGB-CMYK mix values

    play with light

well, if I had to give a description of what my work is, I'd be hard pressed to do that. For one, most of what I do is more surreal. definately illustrated. I over-use transluscent glows, shadows and highlights. But the subject matter allows this overuse. Most everything I do has a 'plastic' /...

Aha! patrick. your Achilles heal....... I'll be doing a spider soon....very soon. it'll be 110 tomorrow

I have to agree with Gaussian regarding 'photorealism' in photoshop. I don't think it can be accomplished, at least by me. I've certainly tried and failed. But in doing so, developed a style that I prefer. I think that that's why I never got into 3d apps. I don't particularly care to create...

    a space scene...ta dah!!!

    I'm surprised you A) recognized it and, B) remembered it. yes, it's virtually the same ship, but the canopy is changed, more transluscent and I dropped in a pilot. :}

    new bug

 it's 112 AGAIN>>>>I had no choice but to build yet another bug......If you find this in your garden, or on your wall, then you've got bigger problems than I do...... [shhh]

    metal bug

how can you not like bugs? in the grand scheme of things, God, Mother Nature, 'the aliens', or whoever, used the bugs for all their graphics experiments. They were good at it too because, so far, we haven't come up with any software that can compete. I get tons of inspiration from the little...

    a space scene...ta dah!!!

ok gaussian, I'll resize my stuff to 700 @ 100ppi, 100 kb. and post direct. How 'bout these little tutorial and 'how to' things I post. I don't think some of them will fit these restrictions.

    first post

I'm not sure Moth. since I've been on this forum, I've posted a bunch of little mini 'how-to's' but no real tutorials. I've got these things scattered all over the internet, so compiled, they may amount to something. HOWEVER>>>>> I am working on some real tutorials, in multi-page PDF format that...

this is closer to my idea of what glass should look like. It's certainly not that well executed, but it shows it in spirit

    play with light

whoa, is this a touchy subject or not [ what is or isn't art? ]. To begin, I don't think this was the issue with this piece RE: the wine glass. for me it was more about capturing a technique (art aside), not neccessarily 'photorealistic' but truer to what was obviously intended by double r. The...

    play with light

the glass is too dense and the inner glow should be more intense. I'll be posting an alteration on that thread and I'll show you how to create the 'rim'. ( if I can use the posted .jpg ). you nailed it patrick. above is what I said on another post to double r.

    Indesign CS2 palettes

grab the individual tabs and pull them out and they become floating pallettes as in ver 2 then name the workspace. You make them go away the old fashion way 'tab' screenshot is CS but it works the same in CS2 http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/4805/palsky5.jpg

    Indesign CS2 palettes

I'll be able to answer this tomorrow Gaussian. I'm going to dinner tonight with a friend who has CS2 on his machine. I have CS. I know that the pallets are customizable in Illustartor CS2 into a 'task' / 'job info' bar, but I have no clue about In Design. I think that the 'POP- IN and OUT' from...

    first post

Double r. first let me say, I'm not upset that you have chosen to use some of the techniques I use. that's why I post them. Hopefully you'll take them to the next level and I'll be able to learn from you. Now, the challenge, following a tutorial does not a Photoshopper make. You have to be able...

    new and not to bright

Alistair, you didn't over due it. Nor did I. I need both my G5 and my pumped up PC. I make a living from them. but double r uses his for Photoshop CS only. what he has is fine. I'd have a CRAY if I could afford it.
